Bucharest Airport Terminal
Bucharest Airport stands for Romania’s primary international airport, being also the largest and busiest one, where both international and domestic flights are served.
Present & future
The project for a new terminal building, Henri Coanda 2, which will be located at the eastern end of the current terminal, is nowadays on course. It is expected that the terminal, with its modular design split into four buildings, will be able to host 20 million passengers per year.
Even though, given the existing funding problems, the new terminal won’t be totally constructed and properly equipped before 2030.
Levels
Bucharest Airport Terminal consists of three different buildings (facilities):
The Departures Hall, the Arrivals Hall and the Finger Terminal (airside concourse).
Please note that the ground level of both Arrivals and Departures is separate.
Departures Hall
This is where Departures are held. Find here check-in facilities, several concessions, including stairs and escalators to the pre-security area of the first level.
The access to the boarding gates is done by separate security checks (50 to 57 on the ground level and 2 to 39 after security).
First level
The buildings are connected by a walkway with shops and several concessions, including car rental offices, on its first level.
On the right of the level there is located the baggage claim area and separate access to the ground level and the Arrivals Hall.
Finger Terminal
The Finger Terminal, the airside concourse, consists of three levels:
- The main level with gates 2 to 16.
- Downstairs gates 20 to 39.
- The upper level, where lounges are located.
Note that the concourse is organized in the domestic and the international passenger flow.

Tarom Business Lounge: Location: International Departures, second level, above gate 7. Open 24 hours. Services: Newspapers and magazines, printers and copiers, Internet, telephone, snacks, TV, Wi-Fi. Access fee: 45€ per person per 4 hours.
VIP Lounge: Open 24 hours. Newspapers, magazines, printers, magazines, smoking area, beer and wine, spirits and liquor, Wi-Fi.
Airport Business Lounge: Location: International Departures, close to Gate 12. Open 24 hours. Newspapers, magazines, Internet, snacks, TV, Wi-Fi. Access fee: 45€ per person per 4 hours.
Mastercard Business Lounge: Location: International Departures, Second level, above Gate 8. Open 24 hours. Services: Newspapers, magazines, Internet, telephones, Snacks, TV, Wi-Fi. Access fee: 45€ per person per 4 hours.
